The Castle of Sant'Aniceto is an Eastern Roman Empire castle located in Calabria and built in the 11th century on a hill in Motta San Giovanni, in the province of Reggio Calabria.
It is considered as one of the few examples of Middle Ages architecture in Calabria, as well as one of the few Byzantine fortifications in the world.
The name derives from that of St. Nicetas, a Eastern Roman admiral who lived in the 7th-8th centuries. The castle is one of the few Byzantine fortifications subjected to the work of restoration and recovery.

Il Castello di Sant'Aniceto è un castello orientale dell'Impero Romano si trova in Calabria e costruito nel XI secolo su una collina a Motta San Giovanni, in provincia di Reggio Calabria.
E' considerato come uno dei pochi esempi di architettura medievale in Calabria, così come una delle poche fortificazioni bizantine al mondo.
Il nome deriva da quello di San Niceto, un ammiraglio romano orientale che ha vissuto nei secoli VII-VIII. Il castello è una delle poche fortificazioni bizantine sottoposti ai lavori di restauro e recupero.
